Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

The Nuwarra Public School Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) comprises dedicated parents, caregivers, and community members committed to supporting the school and advocating for the entire community. Members share ideas, ask questions, and help shape the school’s future by discussing topics such as the canteen, uniforms, events, and new initiatives, valuing every member’s input. We dedicate our time to enhancing the student experience. Our Executive Team includes one President, two Vice-Presidents, one Treasurer, and one Secretary, with these roles elected annually at our Annual General Meeting. Additionally, an Administrator handles administrative tasks, allowing the executive team to focus on their primary roles.

What does the P&C do?
Our P&C manages the canteen, which currently employs three paid staff members. We organise a variety of fundraising events, including discos and movie nights, BBQ and snack stalls at sporting events, Mother’s Day and Father's Day stalls, the Easter Raffle, and special events such as trivia nights and fetes.
How do I get involved?
For just $2 a year, you can become a voting member. Simply complete a membership form to sign up. This form is distributed with your child at the start of the school year. Alternatively, you can obtain a copy from the school office or request one via email from the P&C. You can also become a member of the P&C Dojo page to keep yourself informed about all the latest happenings with the P&C.
Benefits of becoming a member
As a member, you will receive the meeting agenda, a principal’s report, and the minutes from the previous meeting, even if you are unable to attend. Additionally, you'll receive updates on the canteen, fundraising budget, and opportunities to participate in making a positive impact at the school.
Why get involved?
Join the P&C to make a positive impact on school outcomes by offering insights on how the funds are used. You can make a difference without a significant time commitment. You will also stay informed about P&C activities and school happenings, while connecting with like-minded individuals.
When do we meet?
We meet at 7:00pm in Week 3 and Week 8 of the school term. In Term 1 and 4, we meet at either in person in the school office or online via ZOOM. In Term 2 and 3, we meet via ZOOM only.
